For bohemian spirits: the trendy restaurants of ibiza
Formerly the destination of choice for hippy communities, the island of Ibiza is still imbued with this bohemian spirit. Strolling through the cafes and restaurants of Ibiza's old town is enough to recreate the light and friendly atmosphere of the sixties.
Plaza del Sol
Our favourite tapasrestaurant is nestled in the heart of the citadel. Its evocative name alone is enough to take you on a journey. In the morning, you come and sit on the benches filled with colourfulcushions, found in the island's hippy markets, to enjoy a fresh fruit salad and an icedcoffee.
We come back at nightfall, when the terrace is lit by dozens of lanterns. On the menu: assortments of tapas to share, grilled lamb chops with herbs and the catch of the day. In short: a convivial and elegant menu.

S’Escalinata
Climb up to the heights of the city and make yourself comfortable on one of S'Escalinata's ottomans, just in time to watch the sunset over the rooftops of Eivissa. This small restaurant in Ibiza's old town offers you a relaxedcuisine and an authenticatmosphere. S
itting along the steps of the citadel, you can share tapas and a pitcher of homemade Sangria. The music and laughter grows louder and louder as night falls. Here, it is not uncommon to end up sitting at a table with your neighbours, sharing the bestplacesto visit on the island!

Stop at the restaurant of the Hotel Es Mirador de Dalt Vila. Here you can enjoy avant-garde cuisine with a Mediterraneanflavour, all washed down with the best wines.
The immaculate dining room, with its gilded oil paintings, immediately sets the tone: here, the cuisine is elegant. On warm summer evenings, you can sit out on the terrace and enjoy a refreshing cocktail accompanied by delicious home-made petits fours.
Go there to taste the refined and original "Japanese" cuisine of chef OscarMolina. Blending great gastronomy, Mediterraneaninspiration and traditionalJapanese techniques, LaGaia's menu is reserved for those in the know.
Let yourself be charmed by the Posidoniamenu, composed of twelve elegant and tasty creations, for the taste buds as well as the eyes. Our favourites? The oyster ceviche with its salmon egg caviar, and the lobster bisque delicately flavoured with vanilla. Ask for the foodandwinepairing to multiply all the flavours tenfold.

IBIZA WITH FAMILY: THE BEST RESTAURANTS TO TRY
With its turquoisewaters and endlessbeaches, Ibiza is the ideal destination for a family holiday. After a scorching day on the golden sand, take your tribe on a tour of the Eivissa fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and stop off at one of its family-friendly addresses for dinner.
Can Guillemis
A trip to Ibiza would not be complete without an authenticpaella. The old town of Ibiza is full of restaurants serving this typicaldish of Spanishgastronomy. Our favourite? The "gastro-bar" CanGuillemis, on the Marina.
Don't hesitate to accompany the traditional paella with an assortment of Mediterraneanspecialities: patatas bravas, fried squid with aioli, a plate of Iberian ham and pan con tomato… We ask for all the dishes at the same time, toshare them. And as a reward for wise children, the house serves tastymilkshakes made with freshfruit.
Can Guillemis: Calle Enmig, 15, Eivissa, Balearic Islands, Spain
Los Valencianos
This address is not exactly a restaurant… but it has everyimaginableflavour! Located in the Marinadistrict, the LosValencianosicecreamparlour is a real institution in Ibiza. You can come there at any time of the day - and at night, they stay open until four o'clock in the morning - to enjoy a good ice cream.
The most difficult thing is still to choose among the dozensof flavours of icecream and sorbets available. Children will fall for the Speculos biscuit ice cream or milk jam, while parents will prefer the refreshing aromas of sour lemon.
Las Valencianos: Pl/ Antoni Riquer, 5, Eivissa, Balearic Islands, Spain
