Sol d'en Serra

If you head down a bumpy dirt track 800 meters south of Cala Llonga, you will discover  the secluded beach of Sol d’en Serra. The 400-meter-long pebble beach is overlooked by the Amante restaurant and imposing golden cliffs. It never gets busy, even during the summer months. The sea against the cove knows strong currents and can get choppy on windy days. Therefore while a dip in Sol d’en Serra can certainly prove itself to be invigorating for adults, it is unsuitable for children. The restaurant of the same name is a great option for meals and snacks. 

Cala Llentrisca

The hidden gem of Cala Llentrisca is a tiny, rocky unspoilt cove separated by the rest of the island by pine forests southwest of Es Cubells. It can only be reached with your own transportation after parking by the final villa at the end of the road and walking for a few minutes. The beach itself is pebbly and quiet, lined with fishermen’s huts and offers no shade. Its crystal clear waters are ideal for snorkelling, swimming and diving.

s'estanyol

Only 4km out of town, s’Estanyol is one of the most isolated and peaceful bays of the white island. It is best reached from the north of Talamanca beach, on a route that leads you 1 kilometre down another road, then 2 kilometre down a bumpy dirt track. On this beach overlooked by rocky cliffs and lush greenery, there is no sand, only hard pebbles, you will therefore have to make sure you are wearing adequate footwear. The calm turquoise waters are a sunbather’s dream with typical little fishermen’s houses all around. As a swimmer you will find natural underwater caves and plenty of fish, so make sure you take your snorkel with you! The chiriguinto , “PK’s S’Estanyol” sells fresh fish and paellas on Sunday and is also the backdrop to some fantastic after-parties. 

es torrent

The idyllic little cove of Es Torrent is located on Ibiza’s south coast, 7km south of Sant Josep. This pebbly beach is small, only 75 meters long and has a wooden walkway to the turquoise and shallow waters. Its calmness is unrivalled, surrounded by beautiful nature and imposing cliffs. The beach allows for decent snorkelling and the cove never gets too busy. The beach is renown for its seafood restaurant of the same name. 

caló des moltons

The small sandy cove of Calo des Moltons, just 250 meters west of Port de Sant Miquel and a track from Restaurante Port Balansat is an idyllic spot for a day of sunbathing, with boathouses and still waters that make it perfect to swim or paddle board for the first time. The beach has its own little Chiringuito “Utopía” that serves great fish specials and cocktails. Along the same trail for another kilometre, you will find the 18th century defence tower of Torre des Molar, from where you will find fantastic views of the rugged northern coast. 

Platja es codolar

Past the airport towards Cala Jondal and east of Sa Caleta, a left turn after a small supermarket on the left and one kilometre along will lead you to Platja Es Codolar. One of the longest beaches on the island stretching over 3 kilometres, the pebbly beach (the name Codolar is derived from the Catalan words codol meaning “pebble”) never gets too crowded.

Cala d'abruca

Cala d’Aubarca, a 3 kilometre long bay in Ibiza’s northeast is one of Ibiza’s most beautiful beaches. Its scale is impressive on an island of tiny coves but it has no beach per se and isn’t as accessible as other beaches, which means it is deserted for most of the year. As you get to the wooded cliffs on the way to Cala d’Aubarca from Sant Mateu, the road is in terrible condition and you will have to walk the last 15 minutes but the cove is most definitely worth it!
