It's almost always time to go to Marrakech, where the climate is pleasant all year round, but beware of the extreme heat in summer.
Our favorite time to go to Marrakech is undoubtedly the end of the year, between Christmas and New Year, as well as the February holidays.
From March to November, temperatures are generally mild. The All Saints' holiday is also a good time to go to Marrakech.
Generally speaking, we advise you to visit Marrakech in mid-season, to avoid the heat and crowds of summer. In spring, from March to May, and in autumn, from October to November, the sun is ever-present and the atmosphere is calmer, with average temperatures fluctuating between 20 and 30 degrees. Beware, however, of the Easter holidays, which often see an influx of tourists.
Marrakech is also popular in winter for those who want to escape the dreariness, although December to February can be rainy.

In the heart of Marrakech, the Medersa Ben Youssef is undoubtedly one of Morocco's most iconic monuments. Built in the 16th century, it is now the largest Islamic school in North Africa, and can be visited all year round. Now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is a masterpiece of architecture and craftsmanship, with high pink walls and magnificent mosaics.
North of the Medersa Ben Youssef is Marrakech's main souk. Historically, souks were temporary open-air markets supplied by camel caravans crossing the Sahara. Today, the souks and their mythical atmosphere conceal a thousand treasures of Moroccan craftsmanship.
To visit the souk on your family vacation in Marrakech, start at Rue Souk Semarin and continue to Rue Souk El Kebir on the right and Rue Souk Attarine to the northwest, or better yet, let our luxury concierge organise a tour for you with a private guide.
As the historic center of the city, the Medina is the largest in the Maghreb and a must for your family trip to Marrakech. A Unesco World Heritage site, this district with its thousand-year-old history is home to some of North Africa's most beautiful monuments: the Koutoubia mosque, Medersa Ben Youssef, and the Saadian tombs.
If you're not in the mood for a cultural visit, you can also stroll through its narrow streets, fountains and orange groves, shrouded by its mysterious atmosphere.
It's impossible to visit Marrakech without enjoying its gardens, palaces and riads with the whole family. Here's our list for a fun-filled stay in Marrakech with children:
Arguably one of Marrakech's most popular sights, the Jardin Majorelle and its hypnotically blue villa are a must-see on your trip to Morocco. Created in 1931 by French painter Jacques Majorelle, this verdant oasis is inspired by Arab and Andalusian landscapes.
Restored in 1966 by the legendary couple Yves Saint-Laurent and Pierre Bergé, the Majorelle estate and its botanical garden, spanning over 10,000 m2, continues to inspire the world.
To discover the ever-popular Villa and Jardin Majorelle, we strongly recommend a private tour.
In the Medina district, a ten-minute walk from Place Jemaa el-Fna, the Bahia Palace dates back to the time of the Viziers, and its Arab-Muslim architecture is reminiscent of the Al Hambra in Granada.
Its decorative arabesques, finely carved cedar ceilings and marble floors keep things cool, while its sublime garden houses a riad, a hammam and even a mosque.
To take the time to discover all the wonders of the Bahia Palace, we recommend visiting early in the morning or late in the afternoon, when it's less crowded.
What could be better than relaxing in a family-friendly riad in Marrakech? For children, Marrakech's riads are playgrounds and places of discovery, where brightly colored walls and secret nooks bring new surprises every day.
Between two visits to the city, settle down by a turquoise pool, under an alcove to hide from the glistening sun or from your children during a game of hide-and-seek.
In the center of the Medina or on the outskirts of the city facing the Atlas Mountains, our luxury riads and villas in Marrakech are the perfect retreats for you and your family.
