To the naked eye, Ibiza is just a small patch of land floating in the Mediterranean Sea off the coast of Spain. But Ibiza is amorous and captivating, bold and buzzing, cosmopolitan yet classic, all rolled into one package. While it is known for its untouched landscape and sustainable farms, Ibiza also prides itself in its animated evening scene. By day it's all about exploring, beach club hopping, boating. Then by night it's all about chasing the sunset, alfresco wining, dining, and dancing. There are endless options but we've curated a list of the best sunset restaurant Ibiza has to offer for every occasion.
For all you need to know about the White Island, discover Le Collectionist's guide to Ibiza.
It is an unmissable Balearic experience that over the years has evolved into a revered ritual. The precise timing of the sunset varies throughout the year. So make sure to check exactly when you'll need to be in place to fully experience the moment. A sunset in Ibiza can take place between 6pm in the height of winter and all the way up to 9:30pm in the height of summer. July and August are the island's peak months. So if you plan to visit then, make sure to reserve a table to be sure of a good seat.
For a relaxed sundown
Located right in the centre of Ibiza's marina, ROTO is a true escape from the frenzied Ibiza nightlife party scene. Floating above water, generations of Ibiza sunset chasers have sat on the very place where the restaurant is now located. Describing itself as a club and a restaurant, it allows itself to be flexible in being whatever the visitor wants it to be. Although not as quiet as a traditional restaurant, the vibe buzzes with that zealous Ibiza charm. With head chef Jorge Brazález, winner of Masterchef Spain, at the helm, you're in for a mouth-watering gastronomical experience.

Look forward to a distinctly mediterranean meal with Italian, and Arab influences combined with traditional Spanish flavours. While the menu is ever-changing, you never know what to expect. But one thing is always present: spices. When we dined at ROTO, so many unusual dishes with amazing flavour combinations caught our eye. We settled on the creamy rice with prawns, cuttlefish and mushrooms. Another favourite of ours that if you see on the menu, don't skip out on: is the tempura, which has a uniquely spicy batter you won't find anywhere else.
We love having wine paired with a stunning sunset at ROTO. Served with manchego, bread, and olives, it's the perfect way to enjoy a luxurious Ibiza sunset.
With its impressive backlit bar, kaleidoscope sunsets, ROTO is an excellent choice for the daring. Strikingly different from the Ibiza sunset restaurant scene, it offers adventurous menu choices for those with gastronomic taste.

For a 'Sunset Ritual' experience
Set in the luxe 7 Pines Kempinski resort, The View overlooks breath-taking panoramic vistas of the glittering sea. With its glassed façade set at the edge of the cliff, the restaurant allows for the seating areas to blend seamlessly so you can soak in the sunset views of the mystic island of Ibiza: Es Vedrà. At sunset, join in the hotel's daily Sunset Ritual hosted by The Cone Club, another restaurant of the hotel, which is situated right below The View. Sit back and relax as the sky goes through a kaleidoscope of vibrant colours and the sea bursts into flames.
This sunset restaurant guarantees the best ingredients, sourced regionally and seasonally whenever possible. Prepared on a robata – an ancient cooking method from northern Japan - most of the ingredients are grilled over hot charcoal, resulting in extraordinary flavours and textures that stimulate mouth-watering experiences. Our insider tip is to book the 12-seat chef's table in advance. It provides an exclusive dining experience, where you can fully interact with the dining staff to try new and exciting flavours from the kitchen.
The sommelier has carefully curated an exceptional wine list featuring the best of old and new world drops. He is excellently skilled in suggesting pairings that serve to enhance the natural essence of every plate. We couldn't recommend letting the experts take the wheel more on this one.
The View is a restaurant that has one of the most grand views of the classic Ibiza sunset. The Sunset Ritual is one of our favourites experiences on the island, with a soothing gong being hit to signal the start of the ritual, accompanied by great music by the in-house DJ.

For a classic beach club vibe
The palm lined roof, natural materials and weathered feel lends a rustic charm to Beso Beach. With stunning sunset views on the A-list’s favourite beach of Illetes, it's become one of the most iconic places to see and be seen.
Head Chef Carls Abellan is a Catalan cook who started his stay at El Bulli for 15 days but ended up staying for 15 years. So expect the best of Basque combined with Mediterranean cuisine that will have you licking your lips in pleasure. You'll be delighted to know that there are no additives to the ingredients, just the best flavours you'll probably find on the island. Either have your meal at the restaurant or take advantage of the club's beach service. You can blissfully enjoy the cuisine on your own personal lounge bed, with your feet in the sand.
You can never go wrong with Sangria when in Spain and Beso does it perfectly. The ideal cold and refreshing drink to match with the warmth of the sun, the blood red cocktail will pair perfectly with the colours of the setting sun.
Beso provides the kind of beach bar vibe that most people dream of when planning a Mediterranean escape. Rustic while still being glamorous, and luxurious while not being pretentious. It's the place to be if you want to enjoy a meal and the comfort of the sand all in one go.

For great cocktails
Majority of Ibiza's sunset chasers head to the west coast for the sunset. But those who are in the know head to Experimental Beach, or also known as ECC Beach to its regulars. Set in the heart of the Ses Salines salt flats, it has views across the Mediterranean all the way to the tip of Es Vedra. But of course, it’s not all about the view…
Experimental Beach is where the multicoloured sky is paired with the alluring Experimental cocktails and an excellent mouth-watering menu. Toss in a soundtrack of bossa nova, and this Ibiza sunset restaurant is quite definitely one you shouldn't miss.
While at Experimental, we really took the name to heart. Being at the beach usually means endless fresh seafood, but we heard that the beef was to die for, and weren't disappointed. We started with the beef tartare and were blown away by the fresh flavours. The artichoke salad and white asparagus were a perfect way to cleanse the palate while holding its own among the dishes. For our mains, we shared the prime rib steak and octopus a la plancha for a mix of surf and turf.
Lounge around on the luxurious sun beds, with a fun punchbowl to share, as you see the sun set along the horizon. Don't skip on the cocktails (all of them are excellent), as the mixologists are some of the finest in the world.
Walking into Experimental Beach is a bit like stumbling across paradise, where views, drinks, music and food all converge at the perfect point. Perfect for those who are looking for a piece of the island that only those in the know are privy to.

For celebrations
Located in Cala Tarida, this all-white clifftop beach club is a bit different than the usually boho vibe of Ibiza. Instead, the crisp and clean interiors of Cotton Beach Club match the perfectly pressed, glamorous, and glossy crowd that it attracts. The restaurant terrace is set overlooking the turquoise waters and offering a front-row seat of an idyllic Ibiza sunset.
Being by the ocean means excellent seafood, and we can't recommend the sushi at Cotton more. Fresh and light, the sushi rolls are the perfect way to start your meal. What they're particularly known for is their Omakase. It's an astonishing 100 piece set of a mix of nigiri, sashimi, sushi, that is our top pick for larger groups.
If you aren't a huge sushi fan, you should start with the grilled octopus, a myriad of flavours; salty octopus paired with a sweet potato puree, black garlic, and coriander for a touch of freshness. The main course that visits our dreams on a regular basis is the salt-baked sea bass, seasoned to perfection and cooked perfectly.
If you're feeling frisky, have the Aperol Maracuyá. It's a unique concoction of aperol, passion fruit, cava, peach purée, and sparkling water that is bound to get you in a great mood. However, sunsets after all are meant to be enjoyed in the presence of others, so take the Sangria. Served in a large jug meant for sharing, Cotton has its own sumptuous secret recipe. You can even choose which wine, Champagne, or cava you want as a base.
Cotton Beach Club is the best place to enjoy the sunset if you're celebrating a special occasion; a birthday, anniversary, or just a great day out with friends and family. It prides itself of its atmosphere of being busy, but not hectic. A place that's perfect for those who are looking for that classic Ibiza ambience without wanting to party too hard after your meal.
