ATHENS: “MAMAN” EXHIBITION BY LOUISE BOURGEOIS

Since ancient times, Athens has held a reputation as a city of culture. Centuries after the invention of democracy, the Greek capital still harbors a bubbling artistic scene of contemporary avant-garde and prestigious institutions. This summer, the Stávros Niárchos Foundation honours feminist artist, Louise Bourgeois. The iconic "Maman" sculpture will be installed on the esplanade of the foundation and accessible to all until November 6, 2022. Take the opportunity to immerse yourself further in Athenian culture by seeing a opera at the Stávros Niárchos Foundation, visiting the Acropolis Museum, or strolling through the many galleries in the city.

Among this inspired crowd are two genius collectors: Marguerite and Aimé Maeght. Friends and patrons of Joan Miró, Alexander Calder, Fernand Léger, Georges Braque, Alberto Giacometti, and even Marc Chagall, they brought together an art collection that is now one of the major international collections. In 1964, André Malraux inaugurated the Maeght Foundation in the heights of Saint-Paul de Vence: a beautiful garden decorated with legendary sculptures, it is the perfect place for a walk in the shade.
