What to do in Ibiza: With Toddlers

Ibiza is the perfect place for your child’s first holiday, provided you choose the right stay. We suggest going during the Spring or early Summer, when temperatures are milder and the island is more calm. You will have plenty of time to introduce your little ones to the joys of family holidays by the sea.

10am : Wake Up

If there is one thing that cannot be ignored on holiday with a small child, it’s the choice of accommodation. So, don’t worry, you’ve come to the right place! You are sure to find exactly what you’re looking for among our collection of luxury villas in Ibiza suitable for children. Villa Ava, for example! This traditional home is nestled out of sight, in the heart of the Ibizan countryside. The tropical garden that surrounds it and its thick, whitewashed stone walls guarantee total privacy and calm during your stay. Make sure to have story-time on the swing hanging from the pergola!

12pm : Taste the Flavours of Ibiza

If you are looking for calm and authenticity, choose the chiringuitos in the north of the island, which are less popular than their cousins in the south. These traditional restaurants serve simple dishes featuring fresh fish. You can eat on the beach at Chiringuito Aguas Blancas, located on the beach of the same name, or more high-end restaurants, such as the Las Dalias market. Get there early to avoid the crowds after strolling through the flea market.

3pm : Explore an Underwater World

Embark on the Sixto, a glass-bottomed boat, perfect for discovering the sea below without getting wet. The clear waters of Ibiza are perfect for this activity. As the boat skirts the wild northern coasts of the island, you will discover a secret world populated by silver fish and emerald algae, just beneath your feet. Young children will have fun looking at sea creatures from the safety of the boat, while adults learn about Posidonias, a type of Mediterranean waterlily.

5pm : Discover the Joys of the Seaside

You can’t stay in Ibiza without enjoying its heavenly beaches. However, not all of them are suitable for young children. Skip the crowded beaches, where the music overpowers the sound of the waves, and find small tree-lined beaches. One of our favourites is Es Portixol. Here, you can sit in the shade of the trees and bathe your feet in the warm waters of rock pools.

what to do in ibiza: with young children

The island is perfect for family holidays, but you still need to know where to go with your children. We have selected some great locations that will spark their childish curiosity. We promise you won’t be bored!

9am : Play Pirates of the Caribbean

Head towards the north end of the island, to San Miquel. This is where the only caves in Ibiza are hidden. Cova de Can Marça, once occupied by pirates, is now free to explore with the family. Go inside and let yourself get carried away playing in the water. Young children will love looking at the stalagmites that line the cave!

12pm : Take a Break

For lunch, we can’t choose between two family restaurants. If you want to eat by the water, head to the Beach House, on Platja d’en Bossa beach. This restaurant serves Mediterranean cuisine that everyone will enjoy. There are also activities there to entertain the kids while the parents enjoy a cocktail.

Our next favourite location for lunch with the family is located in the heart of the island. The restaurant Es Jardins de Fruitera has a large playground for children with bouncy castles, swings and slides, everything you need to keep the kids busy while the adults taste the delicious grilled fish from the barbecue.

2pm : See the Fish at Cap Blanc

An essential stop in Ibiza, the Cap Blanc Aquarium is much more than a tourist attraction. The tanks are carved directly into rocks to recreate the natural habitat of the native species and immerse you in aquatic life. Throughout the aquarium, you will discover the creatures that inhabit the Mediterranean Sea. Children will love the shark pool, as well as the turtle rehabilitation centre, where century-old turtles are cared for before being released into their natural environment. You’ll be itching to go scuba diving after!

5pm : Build Sand Castles

Head to Cala Bossa, one of our favourite beaches in Ibiza. This three-lined cove is renowned for having the clearest water on the island. As a result, it is often crowded, so we recommend going either early, or at the end of the day. The sand is fine and the ground is flat, making it an ideal place to build sandcastles. You can also eat, rent a boat or try your hand at giant paddle-boarding. Everyone stands on the edge of the XXL board, and the first one to fall in loses!

what to do in ibiza: with teens

If you asked your teenagers for the definition of the perfect vacation, it would probably be lounging in the sun, thrilling activities and breathtaking landscapes. That’s what makes Ibiza the perfect place for the whole family. Here are a few things to do in Ibiza with teens:

10am : Collect Salt at Ses Salines

Are you looking for an unusual activity to do in Ibiza with the Family? The salt workers of the Sea Salines Natural Park have what you need. Find them in the morning, when the sun is rising but it’s not too hot, and your local guide will reveal the secrets to the centuries-old harvesting techniques. After spending a few hours in the salt marshes, you will leave with a bottle of your own, an original souvenir.

1pm : Dine at Babylon Beach

When it’s time for lunch, meet at one of the coolest beach clubs on the island: Babylon Beach. Far from the flashy clubs on the island, this club is chill and relaxed. Take a seat on the wooden terrace and share a family-style meal. On the menu: pan con tomate, fried calamari, burrata and sun-kissed tomatoes. Wash it down with a glass of sangria, you are on vacation after all!

3pm : Travel to the Land of Legends

Do your teens no longer believe the stories you told them as children? Turn back time with a trip to Sa Pedrera from Cala d’Hort. With its natural roots and mystical figures carved into the stone, this setting is reminiscent of the fantastic landscapes of Atlantis. Imagine yourself in the lost city at the bottom of the sea, strolling along the rocks.

5pm : Learn to Dive

Stay on the beach of Cala d’Hort, where a dive boat awaits you. It will take you to the rock of Es Vedra. There, all you have to do is put on a mask and snorkel, and dive into the clear waters to explore every corner of the island. Experienced divers can venture into the canyons of Es Vedra, and use a flashlight to discover the creatures living in the rocks.
