FROM THE PLACE DES LICES TO THE dior CAFÉ, IN st TROPEZ

Picture that it's 10 am, on market day. The bustle is at its peak under Place des Lices’ sycamores. You are hustling in the alleys, between colourful stalls where sun-soaked fruit mix with Tropézienne tarts. You move away from the crowd and find yourself on Rue François Sibili. Here, vegetable stalls give way to luxury houses. The extravagance of Dolce & Gabbana, the spotless know-how of Bottega Veneta, and of course the unrivalled chic of the Maison Christian Dior…

This is where, in the midst of elegant glass fronts, Dior des Lices has taken up residence. Situated in a beautiful and imposing Provençal house with baby blue shutters, the cuisine of this St Tropez restaurant lives up to its décor. In the image of the House of Dior’s fashion designers, many a starred chefs – such as Yannick Alleno and Arnaud Donckele – have graced these kitchens.

Come here at market hour to enjoy the “Petit-Déjeuner Dior” or to have brunch with a glass of Mimosa (this is St Tropez, after all). On the menu: extra fresh produce like burrata and garden tomatoes, or the grenade-passion-coriander flavoured smoked sea bass. Or you can come to Dior des Lices for dinner, where you will have to choose between two sublime dishes: lobster ravioli or lamb shoulder confit! Our insider tip: save some room for dessert, they're delicious.
