With its beautiful nature and bohemian vibe, Ibiza can be a great place for families. But as is the case with any place, it’s important to do some research and be prepared for the unexpected during a luxury family holiday. At a minimum, it’s a good idea to have a list of go-to restaurants, beaches, and activities where you know that your family will be welcomed and will enjoy themselves.

That’s why we’ve put together this guide to family-friendly Ibiza holidays. These are the places that never let us down during our luxury holidays on the island.

Restaurants for Families in Ibiza

There’s more to Ibiza than the grown-up party scene. Many restaurants actively welcome families and go out of their way to make sure that everyone is happy.

Chiringuito Blue

Kids in Ibiza also looks after the little ones at this chilled-out beach club on the sand of Santa Eulalia beach. They organise activities like games on the beach and craft projects. The chefs look after children too, via a good Kids Menu with dishes like fish fingers and chips, and a homemade mini-burger.

Tanit Beach

On Playa d’en Bossa, Tanit Beach is one of Ibiza’s exclusive and glamorous beach clubs. What sets it apart is the special attention it pays to children. Child minders from the well-regarded Kids in Ibiza staff the kids club every day, offering arts and crafts like face painting. The shady and safe dedicated play area even includes a pirate ship playground.

Es Jardins de Fruitera

“We care about having fun,” is the promise at this countryside restaurant in Santa Gertudis. There’s a large kids park with swings, slides, and bouncy castles to ensure that children can work up an appetite for lunch, or enjoy themselves while some of the adults are still lingering over their meals.

Beaches for Families in Ibiza

When you’re traveling with kids, you don’t want a beach with difficult access, rough seas, or limited services. These are a few of our picks for safe and convenient—and beautiful—beaches around the island. For more recommendations, check out our secret Ibiza family beaches.

Portinax

The water is stunningly turquoise at this sandy Ibiza beach on the north side of the island, but more important, it’s calm. The beach gently slopes down to the warm water, making it easy for little ones to enter the sea. There are good bars and restaurants nearby, and if you feel like a little family beach holiday expedition, you can visit the lighthouse of Portinax.

Santa Eulalia

Given the village’s reputation for being family-friendly, it should come as no surprise that the main beach here, on the eastern side of the island, is good for all ages. It was one of the first beaches in the Balearics to ban smoking. Surrounding it is a long, car-free promenade that’s lined with bars and restaurants for a beachy lunch overlooking the bay.

Cala Vadella

On the west side of the island, Cala Vadella is a lovely bay with softly sloping white sand and calm, shallow waters. It’s great for snorkelling and swimming, and there’s a dive school nearby. On land, there are lots of amenities like bars and restaurants and even an ice cream shop.

The sea life represents the main species in the Mediterranean, and there is also a collection of samples, such as shark eggs and sea sponges. You can also see turtles being rehabilitated so that they can be released back into their natural habitat, as they Recovery Center of Marine Species has operations here.

Ibiza Horse Valley

Another animal rehab, this horse farm in a canyon was founded a decade ago as a home for horses that had been abandoned or mistreated. Now it’s an ethical riding center, with the horses that adjust well to their new homes being retrained for riding. There half- or full-day programs for ambling though the north of Ibiza. Everyone meets all the horses and chooses the one they’ll ride.
